The Prints
Our prints are the defining feature of all Great Lakes Coastal goods, and each one is very special to us for the location and memories it represents. Here's a tour of every print we offer.
Beach Shirt and Sling Pack
The Yooper
The one that started it all. The Yooper represents some of the icons of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, particularly its cities of Marquette and Houghton. These include the Marquette Harbor Light, Lower Harbor Ore Dock, the Black Rocks, Portage Lake Lift Bridge, and Quincy Mine No. 2 Shaft Rock House. We even threw in a scene from our favorite national park, Isle Royale.
This print is pretty personal to us, as Great Lakes Coastal started in the Keweenaw, and we have incredible memories across the UP. Created by Joel Siegel, a Marquette local.
Beach Shirt
The Sleepy Bear
The Sleepy Bear is a celebration of the namesake Sleeping Bear Dunes and the surrounding Leelanau Peninsula and Traverse City area. Voted the 'Most Beautiful Place in America' in 2011, this is a must-see for anyone visiting the Great Lakes region. Our print shows views of the dunes, along with the nearby Mission Point Lighthouse, paddleboarders, and kitesurfers- both popular spots in the area.
This one is perfect for your next Leelanau wine tour or beach day in Empire or TC.
Sling Pack
The Copper Islander
The Copper Islander is an elegant print available in multiple colors (Burnt Orange shown here), that reflects life along the shorelines of Lakes Superior, Michigan, Huron, and the surrounding northwoods. Designed to throw it back to Pacific Islander prints on classic Hawaiian shirts of the 1950s, this print is just as much Great Lakes-inspired. Scenes of moose and an A-frame cabin in the forest, lake surfers ripping near Palisade Head, the northern lights, and a map of the lakes all intermingle in our most complicated design.
It's the perfect print, whether you're on a kayak tour or at the cabana.

The Snowmachine
The Keweenaw Peninsula, our home for nearly a decade, often gets 200+" of snow annually, and it's a hotspot for snowmobiling and ice fishing. This print crystallizes those memories for our team and the thousands of visitors every year who bring their sleds up to enjoy the Superior snow machine. Created by Keweenaw local Faith Prentiss.
Future Prints
They're on the way. Eventually, we'll offer a print for every region of the Great Lakes, from Duluth to Door County, Marquette to Mackinac, and Traverse City to Tawas- probably even Toledo to Toronto. All prints are copyrights of our parent company, Thimbleberry.
